Job summary

Trinity House is seeking a Lighthouse Maintenance Engineer - Mechanical to join our technical team. You will maintain and repair aids to navigation, lighthouses and other installations across land-based and offshore sites.

The role covers electronic, electrical and mechanical systems with substantial time away from home. A health and fitness standard is required; travel may involve road, boat or helicopter transfers.

Qualifications

• A good level of experience in a technical maintenance/installation role.
• An appropriate level of practical training as provided by a craft apprenticeship.
• Significant experience servicing diesel engines with mechanical alternator interfaces.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and repair lighthouses and other navigation installations.
• Work on electronic, electrical and mechanical systems across sites.
• Travel to land-based and offshore installations; may involve offshore access by boat or helicopter.
• Demonstrate fitness for field-based maintenance tasks.
