Job summary

Dutton Recruitment is seeking a Lifting Supervisor for a contract on Buxton Cement, Derbyshire. The assignment starts on 2 November and runs through February 2027. The rate of pay is £27.00 per hour (Mon–Fri) and £34.00 per hour (weekends).

You will supervise lifting operations, ensure compliance with lift plans and safety rules, and coordinate crane operators, slingers and riggers on site.

Qualifications

• Previous experience as a Lifting Supervisor.
• In date Lift Supervisor certification are essential.
• Must hold an MP Connect Card.
• Experience in industrial, construction or heavy engineering environments.
• Strong knowledge of lifting plans, risk assessments and method statements.

Responsibilities

• Supervise and coordinate lifting operations on site, ensuring work is carried out safely and in line with approved lift plans.
• Ensure lifting activities comply with health and safety legislation, site rules and safe systems of work.
• Check that lifting equipment and accessories are suitable for the task and have the required inspection and certification.
• Coordinate crane operators, slinger/signallers, riggers and other personnel involved in lifting operations.
• Conduct pre-lift briefings and ensure all personnel understand their roles and responsibilities.
• Monitor lifting activities and stop work if unsafe practices or conditions are identified.
• Maintain communication with site management, contractors and other trades.
• Report incidents, near misses and safety concerns in accordance with site procedures.

Essential Requirements

• Previous experience working as a Lifting Supervisor.
• Must hold a valid MP Connect Card.
• In date Lift Supervisor certification are essential.
• Relevant lifting supervision qualifications and certifications appropriate to the role.
• Experience working within an industrial, construction or heavy engineering environment.
• Good understanding of lifting plans, risk assessments and method statements.
• Strong knowledge of lifting equipment, lifting accessories and safe lifting practices.
• Excellent communication, coordination and leadership skills.
• A strong commitment to health and safety.
