Job summary

Wolviston Management Services Ltd seeks a Lifting Inspection Technician to join their Teesside team. The role covers statutory inspections, testing and thorough examinations across customer sites, ensuring safety and compliance with LOLER and PUWER.

You’ll inspect equipment such as chain slings, shackles, hooks and lifting accessories, recording findings and advising on remedial actions while travelling to sites and maintaining high safety standards.

Qualifications

• 3+ years experience in lifting equipment inspection, servicing or maintenance.
• Strong knowledge of LOLER and PUWER and relevant legislation.
• Practical experience with lifting equipment and safety standards.
• Familiarity with LEEA codes of practice, with a qualification or willingness to work towards one.
• Strong defect identification and inspection capabilities.
• Excellent customer-facing and communication skills.
• High reporting and documentation accuracy.
• Full UK driving licence.

Responsibilities

• Carry out statutory thorough examinations and inspections per LOLER and PUWER.
• Inspect and test lifting equipment, accessories and machinery.
• Identify defects and non-compliant conditions.
• Complete inspection reports and certification records.
• Tag equipment as compliant or quarantined.
• Advise customers on remedial actions and maintenance.
• Support repairs, replacements and follow-up inspections.
• Travel to customer sites delivering a safety-focused service.
• Promote best practice in lifting operations and safety.
