Job summary

WH Scott Group in Bristol is offering an Apprenticeship as a Lifting Equipment Technician Apprentice (Level 3). This hands‑on role involves learning to inspect, maintain, repair, install and test lifting equipment across construction, marine, manufacturing and other sectors.

You will work alongside skilled technicians, gaining real workplace experience, with structured training and a qualification upon completion.

Qualifications

• Interest in engineering, mechanics or hands-on technical work.
• Practical, reliable and willing to learn.
• Comfortable working in workshops and client sites.
• Good at basic maths (Level 2 Maths or equivalent).
• Strong communicator and team player.
• Safety-conscious with attention to detail.
• Holds a full driving licence or willing to work towards it (desirable).

Responsibilities

• Repair, maintain, inspect, test, install and assemble lifting equipment.
• Assist in modifying equipment to ensure safety and compliance.
• Learn to identify and report unsafe equipment.
• Travel to client sites with experienced staff.
• Understand technical drawings and documentation.
• Complete inspection reports and technical records.
