Job description

Our client is recruiting for a Lifting Equipment Inspector to join their team on a full-time, permanent basis.

The Lifting Equipment Inspector will be based in Aberdeen, and you will be required to carry out the testing, repair, and inspection of various lifting equipment and accessories within company and client sites as required.

THE SUCCESSFUL APPLICANT

Essential:

  • Experience within the Lifting / Inspection Industry.
  • Previous experience in writing accurate and concise reports.
  • LEEA Foundation certification.
  • Strong MS Office skills.

Preferred:

  • LEEA Lifting Equipment General certification.
  • Knowledge of LOLER and PUWER regulations.
  • Experience within a similar role within the oil and gas industry.
  • Previous experience effectively leading project teams.
Personal Skills & Qualities:
  • Good organisational and administrative skills.
  • Ability to build and maintain strong customer relationships.
  • Good written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work well under pressure.
  • Flexible, collaborative, and able to work independently.
  • Ability to work independently in challenging circumstances and use initiative to propose and implement changes to work practices.
JOB DESCRIPTION
  • Carry out thorough examinations of a wide range of lifting & manual handling equipment and accessories on customer sites and the company’s workshop, ensuring compliance with relevant standards and legislation.
  • Where required, carry out appropriate NDT examinations (MPI or DPI).
  • Carry out PAT & HAVS testing on client & company-owned equipment.
  • Liaise with Inspection Supervisor and customers regarding progress, report concerns promptly.
  • Produce clear reports detailing examinations, defects, and recommendations.
  • Carry out risk assessments and prepare method statements as required.
  • Evaluate test results according to standards and procedures.
  • Ensure adherence to safety policies and procedures for a safe working environment.
  • Participate in the company’s health, safety, environmental, and quality systems.
  • Report accidents, incidents, near misses, and potential problems.
  • Attend meetings as required.
