Job summary

GAP is seeking a hands-on Lifting Engineer to join its Lifting & TIC division. You will service, maintain, and repair a range of lifting equipment, both in the depot and on customer sites, ensuring safety and reliability for hire-ready equipment.

Based in London with depot operations, you will diagnose faults, update service records, and work closely with the depot team to maximise equipment availability and customer satisfaction.

Qualifications

• Experience servicing and maintaining lifting equipment.
• Ability to diagnose faults and carry out repairs to minimise downtime.
• LEEA qualification is highly desirable.
• Keen eye for detail and ability to stay calm under pressure.
• Customer-focused mindset and collaborative team spirit.
• Full, valid driving licence preferred but not essential.

Responsibilities

• Servicing and maintaining a wide range of lifting equipment within the GAP inventory.
• Diagnosing faults and completing repairs efficiently to minimise downtime.
• Accurately updating service records and ensuring compliance with safety standards.
• Occasionally attending customer sites to carry out repairs and maintenance.

We're looking for a skilled and motivated Lifting Engineer to join our high‑performing Lifting & TIC division. If you're passionate about lifting equipment, thrive on solving problems, and want to be part of a business that's growing fast—this could be the opportunity you've been waiting for.

As a Lifting Engineer, you'll play a key role in keeping our inventory of small shackles and slings, material lifts, aluminium gantries and everything our customers need for lifting any size of load hire‑ready. You'll carry out servicing, maintenance, and repairs—both in the depot and occasionally on customer sites—ensuring our equipment is safe, reliable, and ready to go when our customers need it.
