Responsibilities
- Installation: Install new elevators and lifts in commercial, residential, or industrial buildings, including assembling components, wiring, and initial testing.
- Maintenance & Inspections: Perform regular maintenance on lift systems to ensure safety, reliability, and functionality, including checks of mechanical, electrical, and safety systems and replacing worn or faulty parts.
- Repairs: Troubleshoot and repair lift and elevator systems, diagnose issues, replace defective components, and conduct tests to ensure full operation after repair.
- Safety Compliance: Ensure all work adheres to relevant safety codes, regulations, and standards and follow procedures to keep equipment safe for public use.
- Customer Service: Provide high-quality customer service by addressing client concerns, updating on work progress, and explaining issues with lift systems.
- Documentation: Keep detailed records of maintenance work, repairs, and inspections, including parts replaced, time spent on each job, and any further recommendations for the client.
- Emergency Support: Provide on-call support for urgent repairs or system failures outside regular hours, ensuring minimal downtime.
Qualifications & Skills
- Education: High school diploma or equivalent; additional technical training or certification in elevator systems is often preferred.
- Experience: Proven experience as a lift technician or in a similar role with a strong background in electrical and mechanical systems.
