Join us as a Lift Repair Improver - London and South East Region

We currently have an exciting opportunity for a Lift Service Improver to join our Team based out of our Addlestone Office but working in the London and South East Region. The successful candidate will be expected to assist the Lead Engineer with all aspects of the repair business including contractual and chargeable repairs and upgrades.

Also, to carry out maintenance and safety checks on the service portfolio if required. Travel to the work sites within the Region, is required. You will need to be punctual, enthusiastic and self-motivated to learn.

What You'll Be Doing
  • Assisting with routine servicing of equipment, including minor repair work and the routine replacement of components and in accordance with approved company procedures as required.
  • Assisting with the rectification of faults on lift equipment in cases of breakdown and check to confirm correct functioning
  • Carrying out fault finding and diagnostic procedures using a range of techniques, technical manuals, and appropriate test equipment, restoring equipment to service.
  • Adhering to the use of a handheld device for reporting work activities and any future technology introduced to enhance real time reporting.
  • Proactively working towards gaining the NVQ level 3 qualification by attending the assessment meetings, completing the work set by the assessor and meeting the required targets
  • Working in accordance with established Company Occupational Health, Safety and Environmental policies, procedures, and Schindler Core Values to ensure compliance with current UK legal requirements and Schindler Group Safety requirements
  • Attending all relevant Training Sessions
  • Carrying out all works in accordance with the Company’s Quality Corporate Policy
  • Contributing to the Company’s Safety Objectives, where necessary by maintaining/monitoring current safety systems under their direct control and implementing agreed changes (where applicable) to its Safety Management System
What We're Looking For
  • Experience in the lift and/or escalator industry is desired but not required
  • Electrical, mechanical or construction industry experience
  • Any electrical, mechanical or construction industry qualifications is desired but not mandatory
  • Key Skills qualifications or international equivalents
  • Good communication skills
  • Fluent in reading, writing and spoken English
  • Customer service skills
  • Keen interest in engineering
  • Ability to think logically with good practical skills
