Job summary

Virgin Active & KAUAI in Greater London is seeking a part-time Lifeguard to supervise pool and spa areas, ensuring safety and an enjoyable member experience. The role requires flexible hours across mornings, evenings, weekends and holidays, with a Level 2 Pool Lifeguard training provided on site.

You will deliver exceptional service, maintain cleanliness, perform safety checks, and respond to emergencies per procedures, while supporting the wider Operations team and Duty Manager duties when

Responsibilities

• Supervise all pool and spa areas, ensuring safety and wellbeing of members and guests.
• Deliver exceptional customer service by creating a friendly environment.
• Carry out routine poolside safety checks, water testing and plant monitoring.
• Respond quickly to emergencies following lifeguarding procedures.
• Maintain high standards of cleanliness and presentation in pool areas.
• Ensure compliance with Health & Safety legislation and training requirements.
• Support Operations team with day-to-day club activities.
• Undertake Duty Manager responsibilities when required.

In this role, you will play a vital role in creating a safe, welcoming and enjoyable environment for our members, ensuring the highest standards of poolside safety, cleanliness and member experience. You will act as a trusted ambassador for the club, responding confidently to situations, maintaining operational excellence and delivering exceptional service every day.

The Role

• Supervise all pool and spa areas, ensuring the safety and wellbeing of members and guests at all times.
• Deliver exceptional customer service by creating a friendly, approachable and welcoming environment for every member.
• Carry out routine poolside safety checks, water testing and plant monitoring, accurately recording all required information.
• Respond quickly and effectively to emergencies, following all Virgin Active operating procedures and lifeguarding protocols.
• Maintain the highest standards of cleanliness and presentation across all poolside, spa and changing facilities.
• Ensure full compliance with Health & Safety legislation, risk assessments and mandatory training requirements.
• Support the wider Operations team with the day-to-day running of the club, helping to maintain a safe and welcoming environment throughout.
• Undertake Duty Manager responsibilities when required, supporting the safe and efficient operation of the club.

• Strong communication skills with the ability to engage positively with members and colleagues.
• High attention to detail and commitment to maintaining safety and operational standards.
• Flexible approach to working hours, including early mornings, evenings, weekends and bank holidays.
• Competency swimming up to 50 metres

No lifeguard qualification? No problem.

We’ll provide you with the training to achieve your Level 2 Award in Pool Lifeguarding over a five day course, giving you everything you need to begin your career as a Virgin Active Lifeguard.
