Job Description

From greeting our members and guests with a smile to supervising the team in the pools and swimming changing rooms, the position of Lifeguard Supervisor at Exeter Golf and Country Club is a varied one!

Committed to maintaining the highest levels of safety and attentiveness while at poolside, as a Lifeguard you need an excellent attention to detail and the ability to work well within a team and alone.

Confident and assertive in dealing with all ages, while being welcoming and friendly, you will cover all areas of the pools and changing rooms from a usage and cleanliness point of view.

Experience and Qualifications

  • Must have a valid RLSS NPLQ qualification – essential
  • Work flexibility
  • Experience supervising a team (preferable but not essential)
  • Supervise the pool according to RLSS standards and club rules
  • Lead by example
  • Positively deal with and learn from members' feedback and concerns
  • Greeting members and visitors at all times with a smile
  • Keep the plant rooms working and in good condition
  • Carry out pool tests and deal with any problems accordingly
  • Clean all pools and maintain high water quality
  • Maintain a high level of cleanliness around the pool
  • Liaise with line manager to ensure works are carried out with minimal disruption to operations
  • Report routine maintenance of the club’s equipment
  • Liaise with operational team to ensure works are carried out with minimal disruption to operations
  • Prioritise works and keep the operations team informed
  • Undertake any other reasonable duties as directed by the Head of Swimming
  • Arrive for your shift on time and in correct uniform (clean, smart, and presentable at all times)
  • Follow all procedures set in place
  • Constantly look for ways to improve current practices
  • Actively promote equal opportunities through promotion of policies, procedures, and ensure actions taken by self and all colleagues are consistent with the Club's requirements
  • Promote products and services available within the club
  • Ensure that works being carried out are cost-effective and to agreed standards
  • Have knowledge of departmental standards
