Job description

GLL is looking for a flexible Lifeguard to work at East Ham Leisure Centre. If you have the skills and ambition to join us as a Lifeguard, there's never been a more exciting time to join us. A Lifeguard role can't be underestimated, and neither can the responsibility that comes with this vital role. As a Recreation Assistant, your passion for swimming and love of great customer service will shine through when supervising our customers in the pool, as well as supporting the team in keeping our centres clean and tidy.

What you need:

• A real focus on customer service.
• Passion and personality.
• Knowledge of health and safety.
• Be a great team player.
• Ideally, you'll have your National Pool Lifeguard Qualification (NPLQ) with up-to-date training records. If not, the NPLQ training can be provided, subject to passing a swim test.

What you’ll do:

• Experience regular pool rotations.
• Supervise and maintain the cleanliness of the pool area.
• Set up equipment.
• Deal with customer queries.
• Support your team daily by preparing Studios, Gyms, or Sports Halls for various activities, and assist with the general cleaning and upkeep of the centre.
