Job summary

Xcite Linlithgow is seeking a dedicated Lifeguard to ensure member and visitor safety across our pool facilities. The role offers a part-time pattern with 22.5 hours over a 2-week cycle and requires vigilance and good customer service.

Applicants should ideally hold a current NPLQ; full training can be provided. Competitive hourly rate and benefits are included to support community wellbeing and active lifestyle.

Qualifications

• Ideally hold a current National Pool Lifeguard Qualification (NPLQ).
• Excellent customer service and communication skills.
• Ability to work to a 2-week shift pattern.
• Be vigilant and able to respond quickly in emergencies.

Responsibilities

• Patrol the pool sides or sit in an elevated chair to supervise the pool and its customers.
• Stop behaviour which could be dangerous.
• Respond quickly in emergency situations to effect rescues.
• Perform first aid if required.
• Undertake routine maintenance and rigorous cleaning duties.
• Set up and take down sports equipment such as lane ropes and diving blocks.
• Undertake scheduled water tests (e.g., pH and chlorine).
• Deliver excellent customer service and resolve customer complaints.
• Process bookings and payments through cash and credit card transactions.
• Promote products and services to customers and visitors.
• Undertake general administrative tasks to support programmes and services.
• Attend regular training to maintain job competence and the NPLQ.

Hours Of Work:

Working 22.5 hours per week worked over a 2-week pattern as outlined below:

Day 1: 13.00-17.00, 13.00-17.00, 15.00-22.00, OFF, OFF, OFF, 09.30-17.00

Day 2: 12.00-16.00, 12.00-16.00, 15.00-22.00, OFF, OFF, OFF, 09.30-17.00
