Job summary

Burhill Group Limited (BGL) is seeking a Lifeguard to ensure the safety of pool users and maintain cleanliness and customer service standards across wet side facilities. You will perform daily safety checks, monitor pool areas, and respond to emergencies in line with RLSS guidelines.

The role involves shifts including evenings and weekends, requiring vigilance, strong communication, and a commitment to high standards of health and safety. Training and a welcoming environment are emphasized.

Qualifications

• RBSS/ RLSS National Pool Lifeguard Qualification (NPLQ) is required.
• Experience in public pool environments is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Maintain constant vigilance to ensure swimmer safety.
• Inspect indoor/outdoor spa areas for health and pool compliance.
• Enforce pool rules and safety procedures to minimise risk.
• Respond to emergencies with first aid and CPR per RLSS standards.

POSITION: Lifeguard

RESPONSIBLE TO: Swimming Co-Ordinator and Health & Fitness Manager

MAIN DUTIES:

To ensure the safety and wellbeing of all pool users while maintaining high standards of cleanliness, organisation, and customer service across all wet side facilities.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Maintained constant vigilance of pool areas*, ensuring the safety of all users and proactively preventing incidents.
• Conducted regular inspections of indoor and outdoor spa areas, ensuring full compliance with health & safety standards and pool regulations.
• Enforced pool rules and safety procedures, minimising unsafe behaviour and reducing risk across all poolside & Spa facilities.
• Responded effectively to emergency situations, delivering first aid and CPR in line with RLSS standards to ensure swimmer safety.
• Completed all administrative tasks accurately and efficiently, including safety checks, incident reports, and daily logs.
• Delivered excellent customer service, enhancing overall visitor experience and satisfaction.
• Maintained a valid RLSS National Pool Lifeguard Qualification (NPLQ) and completed regular training to remain fully compliant.
• Supported the cleanliness and organisation of facilities, contributing to a safe, hygienic, and welcoming environment.
• Collaborated effectively with team members to ensure smooth day-to-day operations, particularly during busy periods.
• Communicated clearly and professionally with customers, resolving queries and promoting a safe environment.

WORKING CONDITIONS:

• Will be required to work evenings and weekends.
