Salary: £12.79 per hour
Contract Type: Seasonal
Hours: Part-time, shifts include weekends and bank holidays. Enquire for more details.

About the Role

Our Lifeguards & Leisure Team are responsible for assisting all visitors to the Leisure facilities on park, undertaking lifeguard duties for the pool, and completing tests and records in line with legislation and safety standards. This role is key to ensuring that we can provide the quality facilities that our guests expect, so they can relax and have fun in a safe and well-maintained environment.

Typical duties and responsibilities include:

• Undertake continuous swimming pool surveillance, recovery of bathers, resuscitation, first aid and general assistance in accordance with agreed procedures
• Communicate with guests effectively, dealing with enquiries and providing a first-class service
• Oversee the general safety and monitor behaviour of guests to prevent injury, misuse and damage to facilities or unsocial conduct
• Maintain excellent hygiene standards on poolside by undertaking a systematic cleaning schedule
• Perform water tests as required and report any readings outside the normal levels

About the Person

We are looking for someone with experience as a lifeguard and an up-to-date lifeguarding qualification (NPLQ or similar). A certificate or training in Pool Plant is highly desirable, but not essential. You will need to be enthusiastic, friendly and able to work unsupervised.

Above all, you will need to have the right attitude. Our customers are at the heart of everything we do and so we expect you to do everything in your power to make their Verdant experience the absolute best it could possibly be. We don’t believe in ‘that’s not my job’ so you will need to be adaptable and flexible to help the wider park team meet and exceed our customers’ expectations.

Skills and experience required:
• A current NPLQ (or similar) qualification with recent experience as a Lifeguard
• Excellent customer service skills
• A friendly and flexible attitude with excellent communication skills
• Ability to collaborate and work in a team
• Ability to respond quickly and appropriately to situations which occur on poolside
PVG Scheme membership is a legal requirement for this role. The successful candidate must be a member of the PVG Scheme before employment can commence.
