Job summary

Rolls-Royce in Derby is seeking a Lifecycle Engineer to support airline customers across the EMEA region. You will respond to operator technical issues and develop solutions that meet regulatory requirements, while analysing engine operations and pre-empting issues throughout the product lifecycle.

You will work in a hybrid setup with three on-site days per week at Derby, collaborating with engineering and operations teams to deliver robust technical support and continuous improvement for

Qualifications

  • Engineering or numerical degree required or equivalent experience.
  • Experience with aero gas turbine engines and components.
  • Knowledge of EASA Part 21 and Part 145 certification is preferred.
  • Strong analytical, troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent time management and ability to multi-task.

Responsibilities

  • Liaise with the customer to provide technical support on engine operation, maintenance and repair or technical queries.
  • Lead, facilitate or support the investigation of engine service events to determine root cause, containment and corrective actions including influence on product maturity throughout the product life cycle.
  • Create, develop and approve technical documentation to support the engine operation while meeting the design and regulatory requirements.
  • Identify and improve interface management, tools and techniques between regional teams, engine project teams and other Operations, Overhaul and Repair teams.
  • Work closely with other Rolls-Royce functions and customers to identify and progress cost reduction and design change based on service experience and maintainability / customer requirements.
  • Prepare and deliver technical communications (e.g., presentation and/or reports) to the platform provider, regulators, customers, and internal stakeholders as necessary.
  • Gather in-service data and identify best practice and learning, feeding back into product design and future programmes teams as appropriate.

Lifecycle Engineer - EMEA Region

Full time | Hybrid 3 day on site / Derby

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Lifecycle Engineer to join our team responsible for airline customers in the Europe, Middle East & Africa region . Reporting to the Engineering Manager for EMEA, you will support Civil Aero Engines and customer operations in this region. You will be responsible for responding directly to operator's technical issues as well as developing, implementing and communicating technical solutions that meet customer, business and regulatory requirements. You will also analyse engine operations, investigate operational events to pre-empt and prevent future issues. On occasion, you may also have to support the service investigation of engines returned to Overhaul Shops for repair and / or investigation.

The role operates in a dynamic and responsive environment; providing challenging opportunities whereby you will develop and operate Rolls-Royce Lifecycle Engineering activity at the point of interface with customers and maintenance facilities.   • An engineering or numerical degree or equivalent experience.
  • Experience in design, manufacturing and/or repair processes on aero gas turbine engines and components ideally with understanding or knowledge of the certification requirements for EASA Part 21 and Part 145.
  • Analytical, self-motivated and results-driven with experience of working on complex tasks that are novel and ambiguous.
  • Experience in troubleshooting and/or problem resolution.
  • Excellent time management and organizational skills, with the ability to multi-task to meet deadlines and customer needs.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills
