Overview

Life Science Business Sales Representative – Location: Bar Hill, Cambridge (UK). Full time, permanent role within a leading biotech company with global reach.

Salary: £28,000 - £30,000 per annum + excellent benefits. Contract: Full time, Monday – Friday, 8am – 5pm. Benefits include 21 days holiday + 8 bank holidays and an additional day off for your birthday, comprehensive pension scheme, and healthcare benefits.

This role sits within the Commercial Team in Bar Hill and involves driving sales growth, maintaining distributor relationships, and supporting new market opportunities by combining commercial support, relationship management, and market insight to expand reach and support business goals.

Responsibilities
  • Market Insight & Growth
    • Research and identify new markets, sales channels, and partnership opportunities
    • Develop and implement market strategies in collaboration with the wider team
    • Monitor competitor activity, industry trends, and customer feedback to identify growth opportunities
    • Work with the Commercial team to propose and run promotional campaigns to drive sales
    • Collaborate with Product and Customer Support teams to highlight market needs and support new product launches
  • Distributor Management
    • Act as the main point of contact for distributor partners, ensuring they are supported and engaged
    • Build and maintain strong, positive relationships with existing distributors
    • Identify gaps in the distribution network and recruit new partners to strengthen coverage
    • Work with distributors to drive joint sales opportunities and add value for both parties
  • Networking & Business Development
    • Represent the company at industry conferences, exhibitions, and networking events
    • Plan and deliver training sessions and webinars to support distributor and customer engagement
    • Support lead generation activities through proactive outreach and follow-up with prospects
Required Experience
  • Life sciences degree (BSc, MRes, MSc, PhD) or equivalent experience
  • Excellent communication skills (written, verbal, and presentation), with a professional and confident telephone manner
  • Strong organisational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritise effectively in a fast-paced environment
  • Self-motivated, resilient, and adaptable - able to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team
  • Fluent in English
Desirable and Advantageous
  • Previous experience in a commercial, sales, or business development role (ideally within B2B or distribution networks)
  • Knowledge of distributor networks and B2B sales processes
  • Familiarity with CRM systems and sales forecasting tools
  • Full training will be provided
