Job description

About The Role

Here at Kisimul, we're dedicated to improving the lives of children with Autism and learning difficulties that we support every day.

We're excited to be opening a brand new Children's Home called 'Clann Dion' — a beautiful home located in Rand, just outside of Wragby, LN8.

About The Role

As a Support Worker/Life Practitioner, you’ll be an integral part of the team, teaching young people life skills in context and supporting them to integrate these skills. We’ll provide all the necessary training. You’ll contribute to and promote the development of young people's communication, self-help, and independence skills—undertaking actions devised by specialist colleagues such as speech therapists and educational psychologists, and providing feedback on sessions. Additionally, you will support individuals in maintaining and improving their health and emotional well-being, always promoting increased independence. Support Workers also participate in a wide range of recreational activities such as trips to the Safari Park, fun fairs, or local restaurants.

We offer flexible hours to suit your family life.

Days: 40 hours per week. Shifts either 5 x 8-hour shifts or 4 x 10-hour shifts (between 7:30 am and 8:30 pm). Part-time shifts are also available. Days and hours to be agreed with the Manager.

We’ll pay and support you to learn new skills and to pass your care diploma.

About You

What experience and qualifications do you need:

  • A genuine passion for care and a motivation to contribute to the progression of others.
  • A strong team player.
  • Resilience to persevere during difficult times and to ask for support if needed.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Computer literacy.
  • A Diploma Level 3 in Young People’s Workforce (or equivalent) or a willingness to complete this qualification within a fixed timeframe.
What Will You Get In Return
  • Genuine career development opportunities with transparent pay grades (find out more here – Kisimul | Autism, Learning Disability, Residential Care).
  • Fully funded qualifications – Diploma Level 2 or 3 in Health & Social Care.
  • Blue Light card, providing access to discounts in over 15,000 venues across the UK.
  • Refer a friend scheme — earn up to £500.
  • WageStream app — early access to wages for unforeseen expenses.
  • Help@hand — a wellbeing app offering unlimited GP appointments, mental health support, and physiotherapy sessions.
  • Life Assurance.
  • Flexible working patterns.
