Job Description
As a Lifelong Links Coordinator, you’ll help young people in care and care leavers reconnect with family and other trusted adults — building the stable, supportive relationships they need to move forward with confidence.
Working Style
You’ll be based in the Borough for five days a week, playing a key role in serving the local community. Whether you’re working on the frontline or behind the scenes, you’ll be part of a dedicated team making a real difference to young people’s lives.
What You’ll Be Doing
You’ll help young people rebuild relationships they may have lost — with family, friends and other significant adults. It’s a role that’s part detective work, part relationship-building and all about trust.
Every day looks different. You might be sitting with a young person to understand their story, researching family connections using social media, or helping to plan and run Family Group Conferences. You’ll manage your own caseload, shape your own approach and have the space to be creative — adapting how you work to best engage each individual and build lasting connections.
This is a role that offers real independence and flexibility, with the support of a wider team behind you. You’ll be trusted to get stuck in, build meaningful relationships and do what works — because when it comes to supporting young people, there’s no one-size-fits-all solution.

What You’ll Bring
You’ll bring experience in social care, youth work, teaching, or a related field — ideally with a background in facilitating Family Group Conferences or similar restorative work. You understand the realities facing young people in care and have a solid understanding of childcare legislation.
But more than that, you’ll bring compassion, resilience and a strong belief in what this work can achieve. You’re a great communicator, someone who builds trust easily and knows how to work alongside a wide range of people. You’ll need to manage your time well, think on your feet and stay calm when things feel uncertain.
This role asks for commitment, but gives you the chance to be the person who helps reconnect a young person with someone who could change their life.
About Us
Kensington and Chelsea is home to diverse communities, thriving businesses and unique local places. Everything we do is focused on supporting our residents, strengthening our approach and creating a fairer borough.
As a competent and caring Council, we take pride in our work every day, ensuring our services are delivered with care and competence. We listen to our residents, act with integrity and work together to build a borough that is greener, safer and fairer for all.
In this role, being all in means showing up with care, consistency and creativity. It means doing the slow work of rebuilding trust, tracking down connections and helping young people feel like they’re not alone.
You’ll work across systems and services, but your focus will always be on the individual – what they need, what matters to them and what support will last beyond the system. Every relationship you help rebuild is a step toward stability. And every young person you support will know that someone is on their side.
