Life Claims Adjuster – Brussels/London

Your role:

As a Reinsurance Claims Adviser Life, you will play a key role in supporting the delivery of QBE Re’s claims strategy. You will manage a portfolio of reinsurance claims Life, contribute to process improvements, and ensure compliance with internal and regulatory standards. This role also involves close collaboration with internal teams and external stakeholders to ensure timely and fair claims outcomes.

Responsibilities
  • Support the implementation and communication of the Claims strategy to meet business objectives.
  • Contribute to the development of claims processes and procedures aligned with operational goals.
  • Assist in forecasting claims activity through data analysis and market awareness.
  • Ensure compliance with corporate and statutory service standards.
  • Manage your own caseload efficiently, ensuring timely and effective claims handling.
  • Resolve customer service issues promptly and professionally.
  • Supervise and support claims team members, ensuring quality and performance standards are met.
  • Foster team development through leadership and best practices.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, brokers, and service providers.
  • Assess and pursue recoverable amounts and approve significant claims within authority limits.
About you

You bring experience in life insurance and/or reinsurance claims, including file acceptance and commutations.

Languages
  • Fluency in Dutch and English is essential. Spanish, French or any other languages are a plus.

  • Initiative & Collaboration: Proactive in process improvement and knowledge sharing.
