Job description

Join to apply for the Licensing Property Relationship Manager role at DJ Alexander.

Welcome to DJ Alexander, part of Lomond, the UK's leading network of lettings and estate agencies, covering Edinburgh, Glasgow, St. Andrews, Dundee, and Aberdeen with over 300 staff. We are seeking a Licensing Property Relationship Manager based in our Edinburgh city centre office at 10 Sunnyside, EH7 5RA. The position is full-time, Monday to Friday, 9am - 5pm, with a salary of £23,500 per annum.

Responsibilities:
  • Support the HMO team manager to achieve departmental objectives.
  • Ensure all HMO processes comply with regulations and standards.
  • Provide exceptional customer service.
  • Maintain client relationships and communicate key property management aspects.
  • Assist with administrative tasks such as displaying notices, processing fire risk assessments, and addressing tenant and landlord issues.
  • Raise jobs for HMO properties and coordinate with contractors.
  • Understand application requirements and processes within DJ Alexander's portfolio.
  • Learn standards for HMO properties, conduct pre-application inspections, and report to landlords.
  • Develop knowledge of HMO regulations and ensure compliance for licensing.
  • Communicate effectively with landlords, contractors, PMs, and authorities, including conducting inspections and creating reports.
  • Understand ASB legislation and address related issues with tenants.
  • Become an HMO specialist, confident in attending licensing hearings.
  • Learn how to conduct HMO surveys, draw floor plans, and advise landlords on licensing requirements.
  • Ensure appropriate coverage for HMO 24-hour contact.
  • Collaborate with other departments to support business objectives.
Candidate Qualities:
  • Current UK driving license.
  • Preferably at least 1 year of property management experience.
  • Excellent customer service skills.
  • Strong administrative and organizational skills.
  • Proficient in MS Word and Excel.
  • Legal right to work in the UK.
