Job description

Do you want to work in the valued community setting of a library?

In this customer-facing role, you will interact with customers face-to-face, via email, or by telephone to assist with daily library inquiries.

With a high standard of customer service, you will help us provide a range of services supporting the library's offerings, including IT support, information, and activities for all ages. You will assist people in accessing library resources and contribute to their positive experience of our service.

You will be based at Stafford Library, which is open Monday to Saturday.

The hours of work are 20.5 hours per week:

  • Week One: Monday 10:00am-6:00pm, Wednesday 10:00am-6:00pm, Friday 10:00am-5:00pm
  • Week Two: Monday 10:00am-6:00pm, Friday 10:00am-5:00pm, Saturday 9:00am-4:00pm

The hours of work are 6 hours per week for Post 2, on Saturday from 9:00am-4:00pm.

Main Responsibilities
  • Helping customers find the information and resources they need
  • Providing essential digital support to customers using PCs or accessing e-services
  • Supporting projects and activities for all ages
  • Promoting library stock, services, and events via social media and outreach events
  • Handling sales and cash transactions
