Job description

King Edward VI College, Stourbridge is a sixth form college and a member of the Heart of Mercia Trust. As A level specialists, we provide a deep and thorough academic curriculum and help our students to develop excellent independent study skills. Just as important is our broader development curriculum, with almost 100 different clubs, groups and activities operating on a weekly basis, and excellent preparation for careers and HE. Our students come from a great variety of social and cultural backgrounds, and we take pride in supporting them to form an active and friendly community.

We require a full-time Library and College Services Support Officer, starting 27 August 2025.The post holder will help ensure the smooth running of the library and wider college services through a mix of student-facing supervision, routine administrative support, and practical assistance across key areas. You will be based in the library, ensuring a positive student experience and helping the library team deliver an efficient and effective service. During quieter periods, the postholder will undertake a range of general administrative duties, such as supporting event logistics and assisting with communications.This role is ideal for someone who enjoys a varied working day, is highly organised, and values the importance of both independent learning and behind-the-scenes support.The College is fully committed to supporting all members of staff through staff development and in-service training.This is a permanent, full-time, term-time only post with up to 10 extra contractual days (which will be paid separately), subject to the conditions of service handbook of the Sixth Form Colleges Association. Salary will be paid on the Sixth Form Colleges Association support staff pay scale 3 - 7 which is £20,129.32 – £21,098.28 per annum for term-time only, based on 37 hours per week.
