Job Description
Glasgow Life is looking for a Librarian (Special Collections) to join us on a part-time, fixed-term contract for a period of up to two years. As Librarian (Special Collections), you will be joining our in-demand Special Collections department, based in the Mitchell Library.
As a Librarian (Special Collections), you’ll be joining our Glasgow Life Museums and Collections team. From the Mitchell Library, The Burrell Collection to Kelvingrove Art Gallery and Museum, our Museums, Libraries, and Archives are free for everyone to access. You will work as part of the Special Collections team managing, developing, and making accessible the Library Collections at The Mitchell for the people of Glasgow and its visitors. Reporting to the Principal Librarian in the Museums and Collections service area, you will undertake and support a range of collections-related activities and programmes in line with Glasgow Life's strategic objectives, policies, and governance obligations. You will be working collaboratively with Library and Museums colleagues in delivering high-quality library, information, and family history services from The Mitchell, supporting the ongoing management and development of the special collections, and supporting the operational functions of The Mitchell Library.
