Job description

Responsibilities

• Manage and maintain the school’s library collection, including acquisition, cataloging, organization, and circulation of print and digital resources.
• Foster a welcoming, inclusive, and intellectually stimulating library environment that supports the academic and personal growth of all students.
• Collaborate with teachers to support curriculum needs, promote literacy, and integrate information literacy skills across subject areas.
• Guide students and staff in effective research strategies, digital citizenship, and responsible use of information technology.
• Organize and promote reading programs, author visits, book fairs, and other library events to encourage a love of reading and lifelong learning.
• Maintain accurate records, oversee library budgets, and ensure the library’s resources reflect current educational needs and diverse perspectives.
• Stay current with trends in library science, educational technology, and children’s/young adult literature through ongoing professional development.
  
  

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Library Science, Information Science, Education, or a related field (Master’s degree preferred).
• Relevant certification or experience as a school librarian or in library management.
• Strong knowledge of library management systems, digital resources, and information literacy instruction.
• Excellent communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work collaboratively with students, faculty, and staff in a multicultural, international school environment.
• Passion for promoting reading, research, and independent learning among students.
