Overview

A Librarian is needed in a mixed Sixth Form in South West London. This part-time, temporary role is on Mondays and Tuesdays.

Responsibilities
  • Manage the silent study area in the Sixth Form library.
  • Manage and organise library resources to enhance learning across all subjects.
  • Promote the usefulness of the library for both academic and recreational reading.
  • Inspire a love of literature and encourage independent learning.

Other duties may include but are not limited to the above. You will also be expected to manage behaviour in a large pupil area.

Requirements
  • Right to work in the UK
  • Clear and up-to-date Enhanced DBS
  • Experience as a Librarian in UK schools/sixth forms
  • UK Bachelor’s Degree in a discipline relevant to libraries

We welcome applicants who are entry level or experienced, including British-trained or overseas-trained librarians.

Salary: GBP 100-180 per day, depending on experience and qualifications.

About the School

Ofsted rated Outstanding Sixth Form, for pupils aged 16 to 19, located in the London Borough of Lambeth. Facilities include music teaching/practice rooms, a drama studio, main hall, dining area, outside amphitheatre, graphics room, media room, art suite, ICT suites, large library, science laboratories and a horticulture space. Cultural perspectives and enrichment activities are part of the learning environment.
