School Librarian Position at a Secondary School

Prospero Teaching is currently seeking a School Librarian to start working in a well-rated Ofsted secondary school from September 2024 on a full-time basis.

The school is easily accessible by car or public transport, located next to the A406 (ideal for West London commuters), with Brent Cross station just a 10-minute walk away.

WHAT DOES THE SCHOOL LIBRARIAN ROLE INVOLVE:

The librarian will be responsible for the daily operation of the school’s library or resource centre. The ideal candidate is a passionate reader who will help manage the library by assisting users, supervising students, restocking shelves, and using the school computer system to manage library circulation.

Additional Responsibilities:
  • Deliver the Morning Reading Programme
  • Update the library catalogue
  • Conduct training and quality assurance
  • Lead and communicate with a team of Morning Reading teachers
  • Supervise the library as a social space during breaks and lunch, with staff support
  • Assist in organizing the literary festival
Support and Development:

You will receive an induction from Prospero Teaching and the school, along with support from a designated line manager. The school encourages professional growth through various CPD courses.

Hours and Pay:

Full-time hours, 8 am – 5 pm, Monday to Friday. The role is paid weekly at a rate of £110 per day.
