Job Description

I

Start With What Innovates You.

Everything starts with passion at Rolls-Royce Motor Cars. It turns a profession into a vocation. It drives us to keep reinventing mobility and to bring innovative ideas onto the roads. Our teams work as a strong unit where every opinion is valued. We have set future-focused goals within a practical and long-term framework —all with the intention to enact positive change and continue our pursuit of proactive responsibility. Plus, we pride ourselves on providing a friendly, supportive environment and management style, having some great benefits for our employees (including a car scheme), career development, progression and work-life balance.

We’re committed to providing an environment where you can be yourself and be your best. This includes welcoming you into an inclusive culture, investing in your continuous learning and development, giving you access to breadth and depth of experience. We want to provide you with challenging and rewarding opportunities to make a difference, offering flexible working options and giving ample reward and recognition.

Rolls-Royce Motor Cars, Goodwood – Liaison Engineering Graduate– 2 Year Graduate Programme (September 2027)

Join our two-year Graduate Programme, based within the Liaison Engineering, Bespoke Release and Operational Excellence teams. We are looking for someone with the ambition to take a broad, strategic view of how a world-class automotive business operates; someone who sees the connections between people, processes, data, and technology, and is driven to make them work better.

You will work at the intersection of engineering, manufacturing, and digital innovation, contributing to live projects and taking on real responsibility from day one. We want someone who actively seeks out new ideas and emerging technologies — including artificial intelligence and its practical application — and who is willing to ideate, test, fail, learn, and iterate in the pursuit of step change improvements. If you are energised by the challenge of overcoming obstacles, shaping new ways of working, and delivering meaningful impact across a globally renowned business, this is the role for you.

With the opportunity for multiple business placements within the wider BMW Group — potentially internationally — this programme is designed to fast-track ambitious, forward-thinking graduates into influential careers at Rolls-Royce Motor Cars.

What awaits you?

Support the management of engineering topics across the department, contributing to root-cause analysis, containment actions, and the implementation of robust solutions in collaboration with teams across Plant Goodwood and Munich Engineering.

Participate in cross-functional problem-solving activities using structured methodologies, bringing creative and technology-driven approaches to both technical and operational challenges.

Contribute to the management and integrity of engineering data, Bills of Materials, and release processes, helping to ensure accuracy and compliance across Bespoke and Series environments.

Identify, develop, and support the delivery of digital tools and business process automation solutions — including the exploration and practical application of AI — to drive operational efficiency and step change improvements across the department.

Collaborate with cross-functional teams including manufacturing, quality, logistics, purchasing, and IT to understand business needs and translate them into scalable, effective solutions.

Contribute to the development and maintenance of technical documentation, including process guides, system specifications, and training materials, supporting a right-first-time and knowledge-sharing culture.

Actively seek out new technologies, methodologies, and ways of working; test new approaches, learn from failure, and champion innovation within the team and wider business.

Participate in business placements within the wider BMW Group, to broaden your strategic perspective and accelerate your professional development.

Build a professional network across Engineering, Manufacturing, IT, Quality, and central BMW Group functions, initiating connections that drive knowledge sharing and unlock new opportunities.

Contribute to the development and deployment of team and departmental strategy, bringing fresh thinking and a continuous improvement mindset to everything you do.

Qualifications And Experience

  • A proactive, curious mindset with a genuine passion for continuous learning, emerging technology, and making things work better.
  • A broad, strategic outlook; someone who is as comfortable thinking about process, data, and systems as they are about engineering and manufacturing.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to approach complex challenges in a structured and creative way, and the resilience to test, fail, and iterate toward successful outcomes.
  • An interest in, and willingness to explore, new and emerging technologies including artificial intelligence and its practical application in an engineering and manufacturing environment.
  • Excellent communication, collaboration, and interpersonal skills; comfortable engaging with colleagues across all functions and levels of seniority.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, SharePoint), Power Platform (Power BI, Power Apps, Power Automate).
  • Experience with CAD, Catia v5 would be advantageous.
  • A willingness to travel and participate in placements across the BMW Group, embracing the opportunity to work in different cultures, teams, and environments.
