An opportunity exists for a full-time Support Worker within the Liaison and Diversion Service based at Kendal Police Station. The role involves providing quality support to adults and young people in the Criminal Justice system, focusing on their health, wellbeing, and social inclusion.
Important: Successful candidates must undergo NPPV Level 2 (full) Police Vetting, with successful clearance being essential for the role. As part of this process, candidates must have been resident in the UK for at least three years.

An opportunity has arisen within the Liaison and Diversion (L&D) services for the role of Support Worker based at Kendal Police Station. This is a full-time, substantive position within the established Liaison and Diversion Service, which operates in custody suites and Magistrates Courts.
The service works with adults and young people in contact with the Criminal Justice system. The Support Worker will provide quality support for vulnerable individuals, under the supervision of a Liaison & Diversion practitioner. The service focuses on identification, assessment, and referral, offering brief interventions to support engagement, rather than treatment.
The post involves supporting access to health and social care services for potentially vulnerable adults and children/young people in the community. The Support Worker will work collaboratively with individuals to identify, navigate, and engage with opportunities to improve their health, wellbeing, social inclusion, and functioning.
They will promote hope and work with strengths to develop short-term plans at the point of referral, which may be within custody, court, or community settings. These plans aim to empower individuals to meet their goals and attend necessary appointments, involving them in planning and prioritisation.
Pathways to care include services such as Housing, Drug and Alcohol Services, Mental and Physical Health Care, and others specific to Women, Veterans, Gambling, Police, Courts, Youth Offending Services, Probation, and Prisons.

The Trust also provides physical health and wellbeing services in partnership with local agencies.
