Job summary

Central and North West London NHS Foundation Trust is seeking a Liaison & Diversion Practitioner to work across Willesden Magistrates Court and Wembley Police Custody Suite. You will assess mental state and risk, coordinate care pathways, and refer to safeguarding and CAMHS as needed.

The role involves working unsocial hours and collaborative teamwork with police and court services. The post requires strong communication, autonomous working ability, and the capacity to manage complex cases

Qualifications

• Experience in mental health or liaison and diversion services (desirable).
• Good communication and report-writing skills.

Responsibilities

• Screen individuals in police custody and assess mental state and risk in relation to the alleged offence.
• Develop and implement care pathways and appropriate referrals (safeguarding, CAMHS, youth offending teams).
• Prepare accurate written reports following assessment and maintain documentation to quality standards.
• Remain on site during shifts to respond to referrals and coordinate with custody staff.
