Overview

First Military Recruitment is currently seeking an experienced LGV (Light Goods Vehicle) Mechanic to join one of our renowned clients based in Milton Keynes.

This is a family-owned and run company operating a large fleet of construction vehicles, including tippers, skip trucks, grab trucks, and low loaders. The successful applicant will undertake all aspects of vehicle servicing, maintenance, and repair to meet DVSA standards.

You will be based at our client's large 6-bay workshop in Milton Keynes, working Monday to Friday, 07:00-17:00, and Saturdays 07:00-13:00 when required (paid at overtime rates).

Our client encourages applications from ex-military personnel; all candidates will be given due consideration.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• MOT preparation and presentation
• Vehicle inspections
• General servicing
• Correction and repair of vehicle defects
• Engine and gearbox repairs & overhauls
• Completion of all required paperwork
• Welding and fabrication
• Primarily workshop-based with occasional breakdown/roadside diagnostic work

Skills and Qualifications:

• At least 5 years of experience; fully qualified LGV mechanic (City & Guilds/NVQ Level 3 or equivalent)
• Full relevant driving license
• Diagnostic experience
