Job summary

Biffa Group is seeking a Driver Trainer (LGV/HGV) at Corby Depot to ensure day-to-day operations run safely by training drivers to a high standard and meeting legal and operational requirements. You will lead inductions, ongoing training, keep accurate records, support post-incident reviews, and drive continuous improvement in driver performance and compliance across shifts.

Qualifications

Minimum 3 years of HGV driving experience with multiple modes.
Proven expertise in conducting driver assessments.
Up-to-date CPC training and valid Class 2 HGV licence.
Digital Tachograph knowledge and basic HGV maintenance understanding.
Proficient in driver checks and reporting procedures.
Knowledge of Working Time Directive.

Responsibilities

Recruitment and onboarding: support hiring with pre-employment assessments and deliver a 5-day Driver Induction.
Ongoing driver training: provide refresher and mode-specific training.
Record management: maintain driver competence and training records using Express Class.
Post-incident support: reassessment and retraining following incidents.
Driving performance reviews: analyse driving data with management to identify needs.
Behavioural interventions: provide targeted support for drivers needing improvement.
Vehicle updates communication: stay updated on vehicle changes and share with drivers.
Continuous improvement: develop training delivery and personal development.
