Job summary

Freightliner UK is seeking an experienced LGV Driver to join a leading intermodal logistics provider delivering rail, road and terminal solutions across the UK.

You will perform vehicle checks, ensure load safety, and manage timely collection/delivery of containers, with training provided on company rules and safety procedures. Competitive pay, benefits and a pension are offered along with occasional nights away.

Responsibilities

• Undertake all roadworthy checks of Vehicles and Trailers as contained within the Rulebook for Motor Drivers.
• Drive with due care and attention to maximise economy while in the Terminal or on the Public Highway.
• Ensure load and vehicle safety at all times; meet security/safety requirements off-site when required.
• Promptly collect/deliver containers to designated points and submit relevant details for damages or accidents.
• Provide timely updates to Road Services Office if delays occur to recover associated costs from the customer.
• Maintain and record tachograph discs and logs in line with legal and company requirements.
• Present Freightliner image via grooming policy; undertake non-traditional Freightliner work with appropriate training.
• Rope and sheet loads to Freightliner Loading Standards; keep assigned vehicle clean and compliant.
