Job summary

Freightliner Group Ltd is seeking a reliable LGV Driver to join our UK operations. You will perform roadworthiness checks, drive safely, and ensure timely collection and delivery of containers.

The role emphasises compliance with the Drivers Rulebook, tachograph records, and maintaining vehicle presentation. Occasional nights away may be required with a Night out allowance; training will be provided as needed.

Qualifications

• Performs all roadworthy checks of vehicles and trailers as per Rulebook.
• Drives with due care on terminal and public highway to maximise economy.
• Keeps tachograph discs and logs up to date in line with legal and company requirements.

Responsibilities

• Undertake all roadworthy checks of vehicles and trailers as contained within the Rulebook for Motor Drivers.
• Drive vehicles with due care and attention in Terminal or on Public Highway to maximise economy.
• Ensure safety of load and vehicle at all times and meet security/safety when parked off site.
• Prompt collection/delivery of containers to designated points and submission of relevant details for any damage or accidents.
• Communicate delays to Road Services Office to forward costs to the customer.
• Maintain accurate collection/delivery documentation with signatures and timestamps.
• Clean, tidy and odour-free vehicle; adhere to grooming policy; comply with Loading Standards Manual.
• Occasional nights away from home with Night out allowance.
• Attend mandatory and vocational training as required.
• Perform other duties as directed by Line Manager.
• Commit to growth and development within Freightliner.
