Job summary

Breedon Group in Dunbeg, Oban, is seeking a Large Goods Vehicle driver to join the Transport and Logistics team. You will operate Class 2 LGV vehicles, perform checks, and deliver concrete, asphalt, and aggregates to depots with accurate paperwork.

The role emphasizes safety, compliance with UK road laws, and excellent customer service. Training will be provided, with flexible hours including occasional nights and weekends to meet delivery schedules.

Qualifications

• Valid Category C or C+E licence and a current Driver CPC
• Proven LGV driving experience preferred
• Good knowledge of local road networks and route planning
• Excellent time management and communication skills
• Ability to work independently and under pressure

Responsibilities

• Safely operate LGV (Class 2) vehicles in accordance with UK road laws and company policies
• Perform daily vehicle checks and report faults or issues
• Load and unload goods using appropriate manual handling techniques or equipment
• Deliver concrete, coated asphalt, and aggregates to customers or depots on time with accurate paperwork
• Maintain communication with the Distribution Department regarding delays, issues or route changes
• Ensure security of loads during transit and complete delivery logs and timesheets accurately
• Provide excellent customer service and represent the company professionally
• Ensure all deliveries comply with health, safety and environmental standards and policies
• Contribute to team with flexible hours including occasional nights and weekends
