About The Role

We are looking for a LGV Driver to join our team in Dartford (Selwood's London branch). You will need to have your Class 2 licence and your HIAB/ALMI qualification. This role has ever-changing priorities, so adaptability and flexibility are essential for success.

Good physical fitness is required to safely load and unload vehicles at customer sites and branches. Effective communication skills are crucial to coordinate with the hire desk, colleagues, and customers to ensure high standards are maintained.

The role involves participation in a call-out rota. If you are self-motivated with a strong work ethic, committed to safety and quality, this position is suitable for you.

Key Responsibilities

• Understand and comply with digital Tachograph operation and drivers’ hours legislation.
• Adhere to the Working Time Directive for mobile workers, including statutory break periods and tachograph recording.
• Carry out loading and unloading safely, ensuring loads are secured and balanced to prevent overloading or shifting during transit.
• Be aware of scheduled 6-weekly safety inspections and coordinate with management for vehicle servicing.
• Perform daily vehicle maintenance and defect checks, reporting issues promptly and monitoring for signs of developing defects.

Qualifications & Experience

• Full LGV driving licence (no more than 6 points).
• HIAB/ALMI certification.
• Experience in a similar industry.
• Over 21 years of age (for insurance purposes).

Compliance with Department of Transport Regulations and The Highway Code is essential, prioritizing safety for yourself, colleagues, and the public.
