Job summary

Grundon Waste Management Ltd is seeking a Transport driver to operate predominantly hazardous clinical waste collection vehicles from Gatwick depot. The role involves learning to drive and operate a range of vehicles, with full training provided where needed and a strong emphasis on safety and regulatory compliance.

You will report to the Depot Operations Manager and contribute to ensuring on-time service, accurate paperwork and high standards of customer support.

Qualifications

• Valid LGV Class 2 licence with DQC and digital tachograph card.
• ADR certification is desirable; training available for the right candidate.
• Experience operating waste collection vehicles is essential; training provided for other vehicles.

Responsibilities

• Carry out daily vehicle checks and report defects as required by law.
• Comply with tachograph laws, WTD, SOPs and risk assessments.
• Report incidents, near misses, contaminated bins and waste promptly with documentation.
• Maintain vehicle cleanliness and perform weekly torque checks.
• Wear PPE/uniform and adhere to health and safety standards.
• Deliver excellent customer service to internal and external customers.
• Be punctual, keep accurate records and be flexible with working hours and overtime when required.
