Portsmouth City Council is seeking an LGV C driver to collect refuse and recycling, operating a 26T Refuse Collection Vehicle and possibly other vehicles. Loader support ensures safe operations and smooth rounds while reporting contamination and non-domestic waste per policy.

You will work Monday to Friday with an earliest start time of 5:30am, using an in-cab device to log rounds and ensure accurate data. A CPC qualification and GDPR awareness are required, with health and safety

Formación

• Hold LGV (class 2) Category C licence.
• Valid Driver CPC with at least 35 hours training.
• Digital tachograph card up to date.
• Good physical fitness for routine tasks in a team.
• Ability to read/record round information in-cab device.
• Strong customer-facing communication.
• Local Portsmouth knowledge.

Responsabilidades

• Collect refuse/recycling from kerbside, communal sites and bring banks.
• Operate 26T RCVs; assist loaders to maintain safe vehicle operation.
• Record collection data and report contamination or non-domestic waste.
• Support safety systems, report incidents/near-misses; understand manual handling.
