Job summary

Biffa Group in the United Kingdom is recruiting an LGV Driver for the AM shift. You will drive LGV vehicles to collect and empty bins from our trade/food waste customers, Monday to Friday with overtime on weekends on a rota.

Starting time is 04.00 and you’ll be working outdoors, using your own initiative to support the local environment and communities. On-the-job training is provided, with a focus on safety and vehicle checks.

Qualifications

• Valid LGV/HGV Class 2 (Category C) driving licence.
• Valid Driver CPC / Driver Qualification Card.
• Good understanding of road safety and vehicle safety.
• Ability to complete daily vehicle checks and report defects.
• Good knowledge of drivers' hours and tachograph requirements.
• Ability to safely manoeuvre and operate a large rigid vehicle.
• Good communication and customer service skills.
• Good awareness of health & safety procedures.

Responsibilities

• Drive LGV vehicles collecting and emptying bins from trade/food waste customers.
• Work as part of a single person crew and perform daily checks.
• Follow rota, including overtime and weekend work when required.
