Job description

Societe Generale is one of Europe's leading financial services groups and a major player in the economy for over 160 years, supporting 25 million clients every day with more than 126,000 staff in 65 countries.

Our Group draws on our European roots to develop our business internationally. Our unique geographic positioning enables us to connect Europe and Africa with major global financial centres in Asia and the Americas.

The Group combines financial strength, proven expertise in innovation and a sustainable growth strategy with the objective of creating value for all our stakeholders. We seek to be a trusted partner in the projects of those building tomorrow's world today.

About the team:

We are looking to grow our already well-established and respected Leveraged Finance team in London with the addition of an Analyst who can assist in all aspects of deals from analyst/origination through to completion and working with our syndications team to distribute underwritten debt.

We arrange and underwrite debt, including refinancings, for both Leveraged Corporates and Sponsor-owned portfolio companies, covering all of Europe and the USA. The team works on structuring, arranging and/or underwriting Term Loan B and High Yield financing, often alongside other leading banks before syndicating this debt to a range of institutional investors operating in the leveraged debt markets.

Summary of Key Purposes of the Role:
  • Build and manage client relationships with target borrowers/issuers in the Leveraged Finance space
  • Identify and address clients' needs in terms of raising, refinancing and optimising capital structures
  • Represent Leveraged Finance in internal dialogues with colleagues to provide best-in-class advisory to the SG client base
  • Support internal credit processes and risk analysis
  • Support the syndicate team in distributing the financing to investors, post its origination and underwriting by the leveraged finance team
Responsibilities:
  • Support the team in originating debt financing and advisory mandates in the leveraged finance space
  • Focus on European markets for Leveraged Finance loans and high yield bonds across all relevant currencies
  • Support the team in developing and maintaining a track record of winning mandates to address clients' borrowing needs
  • Support the team in the effective and responsible execution of mandates
  • Create from scratch and assist other team members in creation of financial models and analysis, helping on pricing and structuring of deals
Profile Required:
  • Understanding of loan financing markets - the dynamics, related instruments including credit and rates derivatives to propose relevant financing solutions
  • Financial analysis and modelling skills
  • Ability to create clear, structured, compelling and comprehensive pitch material focussed on addressing clients' needs
  • Ability to understand risks and act responsibly in line with SG Group values and all applicable rules/regulations
  • Team orientated with willingness to assist in a broad range of tasks, often simultaneously, to ensure the highest levels of service are provided to our clients
  • Very strong all-round communication skills - written and verbal

Additional European languages are beneficial, not essential.
