Job summary

Heidelberg Materials UK in Chipping Sodbury is offering an Apprentice Quantity Surveyor Higher Apprenticeship. You will work from day one on real projects within our commercial team and begin your path to becoming a qualified QS.

You will earn £25,084 per year and study part-time toward a Level 6 Quantity Surveyor qualification with structured mentorship, training and career progression opportunities. Start date is September 2027.

Qualifications

• Education: 112+ UCAS points and 5 GCSEs including Maths, English & Science.
• Driving licence: Full UK licence.
• Skills: Self-starter, team player, excellent communicator, flexible and proactive.
• Status: British citizenship or UK settled status.
• Structured learning with mentorship and a clear development plan.

Responsibilities

• Assist in negotiation and terms for contracts and sub-contracts with in-house and external advisors.
• Help establish financial control systems for contract execution and manage revenue, costs, and cash collection.
• Support procurement process and define responsibilities and terms for subcontractors and suppliers.
• Monitor payments, prepare subcontractor payment certificates, and ensure accurate financial reporting.
• Learn and uphold Health, Safety & Environment standards across projects.
• Attend structured training and complete the apprenticeship programme.
