Job description

This is a training post offering the successful candidate the opportunity to work in a supported learning environment in TSDFT Radiology Department. This is a 3-year degree apprenticeship working towards qualification as a B5 Diagnostic Radiographer.

The successful candidate will work in the Main X-ray Department of Torbay Hospital. The BSc Degree course will be provided by the University of Exeter and all practical training being carried out in Torbay Hospital supported by the existing Radiology Team.

Responsibilities will include:

  • To carry out supervised radiographic examinations within the agreed scope of practice for the role, striving to produce images that are of exemplary diagnostic quality.
  • To work as part of the Radiology team, supporting Torbay and South Devon NHS Foundation Trust (TSDFT) in delivering a high quality, safe and patient focussed service.
  • Represent the Radiology team and TSDFT in a professional and appropriate manner.
  • Contribute to safe working practices, ensuring full compliance with all local and national guidance and regulatory requirements.

Requirements for the role include:

  • GCSE grade C or above in English and Maths
  • 3 A-Levels, grades BBC or above with grade B in a science subject or equivalent
  • Equivalent qualifications agreed by TSDFT and UoE
