Job summary

Mars Apprenticeships in Melton Mowbray invites candidates to join a 4-year Engineering Manufacturing Technician apprenticeship. You will train through Mars University and gain a Level 4 qualification while contributing to real production challenges.

You will work with engineers, learn to analyze problems, and travel to our Melton Mowbray site and Loughborough College as needed. A strong academic background and communication skills are essential.

Qualifications

• GCSEs with English, Maths and Science at grade C/4 or above.
• Three A Levels including Maths or Physics or an engineering qualification are required.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with Engineers and Technical Leads to maintain and improve production systems.
• Apply root-cause analysis to diagnose and resolve issues and improve equipment performance.
• Work with multi-disciplinary teams to ensure reliability and efficiency of manufacturing assets.
• Learn project management, document processes, and support data-driven decision making.
• Develop technical leadership skills.

This is an exciting opportunity to join a 4-year Apprenticeship, where you will be working towards the Level 4 Apprenticeship Standard in Engineering Manufacturing Technician. You will take part in fantastic training courses and team building events, whilst tackling real challenges and taking on real responsibility.

You’ll need to be a great team player and communicator, with the motivation to get results and a positive mindset. As a Mars Apprentice you will gain a professional qualification, as well as on the job experience.

Salary £21,000 rising on completion of each academic year + annual bonus + benefits.

What are we looking for?

• An interest in engineering and advanced manufacturing
• Problem-solving mindset and a desire to understand how things work
• A proactive attitude, with strong communication and collaboration skills
• Willing and able to travel to our Melton Mowbray site and Loughborough College
• We require you to be 16+ by the 6th September 2027
• Five GCSE’s at Grade C/4 (or above) including English, Maths, and Science.
• 3 A Levels including either Maths or Physics at a C or above / an Engineering T Level / an Extended Diploma in Engineering / or progression from a Level 3 Engineering Apprenticeship (or equivalent Level 3 qualification)
• You must not have already studied the L4 Engineering Manufacturing Technician Standard
