Job summary

Hawk Hiring in Bracknell is seeking a Vehicle Technician / Car Mechanic to join a family-run, independent garage. You’ll perform heavy mechanical repairs, diagnose faults with modern tools, and conduct routine servicing for all makes/models.

The role offers a Monday–Friday schedule (08:30–18:00) with no weekend shifts and a fixed basic salary. With a strong emphasis on craftsmanship and teamwork, you’ll work in a supportive environment that values quality over speed, backed by a trusted local

Qualifications

• NVQ Level 3 in Light Vehicle Maintenance & Repair or equivalent.
• Minimum 4 years of professional workshop experience with broad vehicle brands.
• Strong heavy mechanical capability with a logical diagnostic mindset.

Responsibilities

• Carrying out heavy mechanical repairs including timing chains and clutches.
• Trace and resolve electrical and mechanical faults using diagnostic tools.
• Deliver high-standard routine servicing and general maintenance across all makes/models.
• Collaborate with MOT testers and technicians to maintain workshop workflow.

What You’ll Be Doing:

• Carrying out heavy mechanical repairs, including timing chains, clutches, and intensive engine overhauls
• Tracing and resolving complex electrical and mechanical faults logically using modern diagnostic tools
• Delivering high-standard routine servicing, general maintenance, and multi-point vehicle checks across all makes and models
• Working collaboratively alongside our in-house MOT Testers and technicians to maintain a smooth workshop workflow

What We’re Looking For:

• Qualification: NVQ Level 3 in Light Vehicle Maintenance & Repair (or equivalent)
• Experience: Minimum 4 years of professional workshop experience with broad mechanical knowledge across diverse vehicle brands
• Skills: Strong heavy mechanical capability paired with a logical diagnostic fault-finding mindset
• Licence: Valid full UK Driving Licence
