Job summary

North Tyneside Council is seeking a Level 3 Teaching Assistant to support students aged 16-24 with EHC plans. The role is permanent, 37 hours per week, term-time only, with a pro rata salary and potential for job share or part-time arrangements.

In addition to assisting teachers, you will help manage resources, support during breaks and enrichment activities, and contribute to positive progression for learners. DBS disclosure will be required.

Qualifications

• Minimum Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification.
• Experience working with young people with additional needs and EHC plans.
• Able to work term-time and part-time or job-share when appropriate.

Responsibilities

• Assist students with planned learning activities under the guidance of teaching staff.
• Support learners with EHC plans and provide personalised assistance.
• Aid in resources preparation and classroom management during lessons and breaks.
