A primary school based in Birkenhead have approached New Directions to help them in finding a Level 3 Teaching Assistant to support a student on a 1:1 basis in their early years foundation stage department (EYFS). The school are looking for the right candidate to start as soon as possible and this role will continue through until the end of the 2024 academic year, working 5 days a week. Experience within an EYFS setting is desirable.

Key Responsibilities:
– Provide one-to-one support to a child in EYFS, assisting with their learning and progress
– Implement strategies to help the child engage with the curriculum and reach their potential
– Work collaboratively with the class teacher and SENCO to create a supportive and inclusive learning environment
– Monitor and record the child’s achievements and challenges to inform future interventions

Requirements:
– Experience working with children in an educational setting, preferably in a support capacity
– A patient, empathetic, and nurturing approach to supporting children’s learning needs
– Strong communication skills and the ability to build positive relationships with students and colleagues
– An understanding of child development and a willingness to adapt to individual learning styles

Teaching or classroom assistants are now vital resources for teachers and are heavily relied upon in schools.

  • NVQ Level 2 Teaching Assistant
  • NVQ Level 3 Teaching Assistant
  • Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA)

  • BTEC National Certificate in Childhood Studies (Nursery Nursing)

We’ll also consider experienced learning support assistants (LSAs) who have previously held a job in a primary school or assisted a pupil in the role in a secondary school but do not hold any of the above qualifications.
