Job summary

Protocol Education in Newcastle is seeking a Level 3 Teaching Assistant to join a specialist SEND school. You will provide tailored support to pupils with physical, medical and additional learning needs, using assistive technology and specialist equipment.

This is a full-time term-time role with daily pay between £130 and £250 depending on experience, offering hands-on SEND experience, close collaboration with teachers, and opportunities to help pupils access the curriculum.

Qualifications

• Must have Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification or equivalent.
• Experience working with children or young people with SEND.
• Experience or understanding of physical and/or medical needs.
• Confident ICT skills and willingness to learn specialist systems.

Responsibilities

• Provide tailored support to pupils with a range of SEND needs.
• Support pupils with physical and medical requirements.
• Adapt learning activities and classroom resources.
• Assist with specialist technology and equipment.
• Support communication and access to the curriculum.
• Encourage independence, confidence and engagement.
• Work closely with teachers and specialist professionals.
• Monitor pupils' progress and provide feedback.
