Main Purpose of the Position
The Early Years Educator is a key member of the early years team, responsible for delivering high-quality care and learning opportunities tailored to children's needs and interests. The role involves providing a safe, secure, caring, and supportive environment for children and families, aligned with Apricot Nursery Group's policies, procedures, and ethos.
Supervisory Responsibilities
This role does not involve direct supervision of other employees.
Key Responsibilities
- Promote positive relationships within the setting.
- Ensure the health, safety, and well-being of children.
- Support children's development, learning, and play.
- Build strong relationships with children and families.
- Contribute to effective teamwork.
- Model high-quality practice in individual and group settings.
- Assist in maintaining safety, security, and well-being of all at all times.
- Follow safeguarding procedures in line with local authority and company policies.
- Embrace and promote the nursery’s ethos and your role within the team.

- Manage transitions and communicate effectively with staff and families.
- Address parent and carer concerns promptly.
- Support planning and implementation of activities to promote learning.
- Use professional knowledge to support diverse learning needs.
- Promote inclusion and physical well-being.
- Record children’s development through observations and posts.
- Maintain a child-centred approach and build on children’s interests.
- Assist in health and safety management, including risk assessments and hazard checks.
- Promote good hygiene and high cleanliness standards.
- Support sustainability initiatives and nursery marketing efforts.
- Provide excellent customer service and foster partnerships with parents, carers, and professionals.
General
- Adhere to policies and maintain professionalism and confidentiality.
- Represent the nursery and company positively.
- Stay informed about relevant legislation.
- Willing to undertake additional roles and ongoing professional development.
