Level 3 Qualified Early Years Practitioner

Main purpose of the position
The Early Years Educator is a key member of the early years team, responsible for delivering high-quality care and learning opportunities tailored to children's needs and interests. The role involves providing a safe, secure, caring, and supportive environment for children and their families, aligned with the policies, procedures, and ethos of Apricot Nursery Group.
Supervisory responsibility
This role does not involve direct supervision of other staff members.
Key responsibilities include:
- Promoting positive relationships within the setting
- Ensuring the health, safety, and well-being of children
- Supporting children's development, learning, and play
- Building strong relationships with children and families
- Contributing to effective teamwork
- Modeling high-quality practice in individual and group work
- Ensuring safety, security, and well-being of all at all times
- Following safeguarding procedures in line with local authority and company policies
- Embracing and promoting the ethos of Hamilton Nurseries
Performance requirements
- Reinforcing nursery policies and swiftly addressing breaches
- Promoting the company's ethos both within and outside the nursery

- Being flexible to support nursery operations, including domestic tasks and working across different rooms

- Supporting the nursery's Ofsted inspection readiness
- Participating in staff meetings, training, and professional development activities
- Maintaining staff ratios as per regulations
Care and education
- Reflecting on practice for continuous improvement
- Supporting individual needs and planning in line with EYFS standards
- Ensuring effective communication with staff and families
- Handling parent/carer concerns promptly and appropriately
- Planning and implementing activities based on children's interests
- Supporting children's physical, emotional, and social development
- Recording children's development and observations
- Creating a child-centered, inclusive environment
- Ensuring health and safety standards, including hygiene and risk assessments
- Supporting sustainability initiatives and nursery marketing efforts

- Adhering to all policies and maintaining professionalism and confidentiality
- Representing the nursery positively and professionally
- Staying informed about relevant legislation
- Undertaking additional roles as needed and committing to ongoing professional development
