Job description
A nursery in Windsor is looking for a Level 3 Nursery Practitioner to join their team.
The role is 40 hours per week.
Salary from minimum wage upwards - negotiable for the right candidate.
Key Responsibilities
- Ensure the safety and well-being of all children in your care, preventing accidents and promoting security and satisfaction among parents.
- Caring for the daily needs of children to support their physical, intellectual, social, and emotional development.
- Contribute effectively to the team, maintaining high communication standards throughout the nursery.
Main Tasks
Team Contribution
- Work as an effective part of the nursery team, maintaining good morale and reputation, and meeting all nursery standards.
- Be aware of and follow company policies and procedures in daily tasks.
- Encourage and include student staff members, leading by example.
Child and Parent Care
- As a Key Carer, ensure parents are satisfied with appropriate information and feedback.
- Communicate with children at their level during play and mealtimes.
- Help settle new children and parents, keeping them informed of progress.
- Maintain high personal hygiene standards and encourage the same in children.
- Ensure children are tidy, happy, and ready for collection.
- Provide daily updates to parents through diary sheets or verbal communication.
- Respect confidentiality of personal information.
- Be welcoming to all parents and children, directing queries to the Room Leader or Manager/Deputy as needed.
Administration and Planning
- Plan curriculum based on age and development stages to promote social and educational stimulation.
- Keep developmental records up to date and accessible to parents.
- Maintain routines within each nursery area.
- Accurately complete room registers and sign-in sheets.
- Organize a filing system for easy access to information.
Nursery Communication
- Attend and participate in staff and room meetings.
- Maintain good communication with senior management on daily occurrences.
- Follow procedures for parent communication.
- Report maintenance needs promptly.
- Handle all matters concerning children, parents, staff, and business confidentially.
Health and Safety
- Implement health and safety procedures to ensure safety of children and staff.
- Be aware of risk assessments and act on recommendations.
- Maintain hygiene through cleaning and sterilizing equipment, recording actions.
- Care for and store toys and equipment safely.
- Ensure rooms are clean and tidy daily.
- Report repairs needed for toys and equipment.
- Participate in fire drills and safety procedures.
- Record accidents properly and inform relevant parties.
- Regularly check electrical appliances if assigned.
