Overview

Create and maintain a safe, happy, and stimulating environment that enables children to thrive and reach their full potential.

Responsibilities
  • Deliver a key person approach, building strong, supportive relationships with children and families.
  • Ensure safeguarding, welfare, SEND, British Values, and all statutory requirements are consistently met.
  • Plan, observe, and evaluate children’s learning in line with the EYFS curriculum, maintaining accurate records through formative and summative assessments.
  • Conduct parent meetings to share progress, and work in partnership with parents, carers, and external professionals (e.g., SENDCOs, EYFS advisors, health practitioners).
  • Support smooth transitions for children moving between rooms and on to primary school.
  • Promote children’s health and wellbeing by meeting nutritional needs, complying with Food Safety Regulations, and upholding the highest standards of hygiene and cleanliness.
  • Take shared responsibility for health, safety, and security across the nursery, adhering to all policies, emergency procedures, and company standards.
  • Role model best practice, mentoring and supporting colleagues, new staff, and apprentices.
  • Demonstrate and uphold the company’s values, philosophy, and ethos in daily practice.
  • Take responsibility for personal and professional development, completing training and staying up to date with industry knowledge.
