Responsibilities
- Deliver a key person approach, building strong, supportive relationships with children and families.
- Ensure safeguarding, welfare, SEND, British Values, and all statutory requirements are consistently met.
- Plan, observe, and evaluate children’s learning in line with the EYFS curriculum, maintaining accurate records through formative and summative assessments.
- Conduct parent meetings to share progress, and work in partnership with parents, carers, and external professionals (e.g., SENDCOs, EYFS advisors, health practitioners).
- Support smooth transitions for children moving between rooms and on to primary school.
- Promote children’s health and wellbeing by meeting nutritional needs, complying with Food Safety Regulations, and upholding the highest standards of hygiene and cleanliness.
- Take shared responsibility for health, safety, and security across the nursery, adhering to all policies, emergency procedures, and company standards.
- Role model best practice, mentoring and supporting colleagues, new staff, and apprentices.
- Demonstrate and uphold the company’s values, philosophy, and ethos in daily practice.
- Take responsibility for personal and professional development, completing training and staying up to date with industry knowledge.
